Terms of use

These terms are an agreement between you and Hawk Minds Ltd (UIC 205119042, registered in Bulgaria), 19A Pushkin Street, Velingrad, Bulgaria ("we", "us") for your use of the Yasno app. By using Yasno you accept them. Please also read our privacy policy.

1. What Yasno does

Yasno reads the ingredient list and nutrition panel from a photo or from text you type. It then shows information about each ingredient and an overall score, worked out as described on our methodology page. Verdicts are about ingredients. They are not statements about any brand, company or individual product.

We work hard to keep the information accurate and sourced, but we can't guarantee that it is complete, current or error-free. Science and regulations change. You use the information at your own judgement.

2. Who can use Yasno

You must be at least 16 years old to use Yasno.

3. Your account

You can use Yasno without an account. If you create one with Sign in with Apple, keep your Apple ID secure. You can delete your account at any time in the app under Account, Delete account. This permanently deletes your account data, as described in the privacy policy.

4. Free scans and Premium

• Free: 10 scans per calendar month. Unused free scans don't carry over. When they run out, Yasno can't analyse new labels, including allergen checks, until the 1st of the next month or until you subscribe. Your past results stay readable.
• Premium: unlimited scans, the full personal profile and unlimited scan history. It is available as a monthly (€5.99) or yearly (€39.99) subscription. Prices in your country and currency are shown in the app before you buy, and may differ.
• Free trial: the yearly plan may include a 7-day free trial for eligible new subscribers. If you don't cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you are charged.
• Billing and renewal: payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase. A subscription renews automatically at the same price and length unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
• Managing and cancelling: manage or cancel in your iPhone's Settings: tap your name, then Subscriptions. If you cancel, Premium continues until the end of the period you have paid for.
• Refunds: purchases are made through Apple and refunds are handled by Apple under its policies, at reportaproblem.apple.com. This doesn't affect any rights you have under consumer law.

If we change Premium prices, Apple will tell you before the change affects your subscription, and you can cancel before it does.

5. Fair use

Please don't:

• copy, scrape or extract our ingredient database or its content in bulk;
• reverse-engineer, modify or interfere with the app or our servers, except where the law allows it;
• use automated tools to send requests to our service;
• send content that is unlawful or that isn't a product label, such as photos of people or documents;
• use Yasno's results to make claims about a named brand or product, or present them as our endorsement or criticism of one.

We may suspend access for anyone who seriously or repeatedly breaks these rules.

6. Our content

The app, the ingredient database and our explanations belong to Hawk Minds Ltd or its licensors. You may use them for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. Official regulatory data and the sources we cite remain under their own terms; see the credits on our methodology page.

7. Reports and corrections

If you think a result is wrong, use "Report a problem" in the app. Manufacturers and brands can contact us as described on our support page. We aim to review reports within 5 business days.

8. Availability and changes

We may update, change or stop parts of Yasno. If we stop the service entirely, we'll give you reasonable notice in the app. We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using Yasno after that, you accept the new terms. If you don't accept them, you can stop using Yasno and cancel your subscription.

9. Our responsibility to you

Yasno is an information tool. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for decisions you make based on it, or for loss caused by a misread label, an incomplete label or a change in a product. Our total liability to you for any claim related to Yasno is limited to the amount you paid us for Premium in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited or excluded by law. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

10. Apple

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Yasno or its content, and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to your use of the app. Where it conflicts with these terms, these terms apply, as far as Apple's terms allow.

11. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Bulgaria. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in the courts there. Please contact us first. Most problems can be solved quickly by email.
